Tuesday, 31 May 2011, 16:00 - 17:30

Hosted by the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF)

The International Code of Conduct for Private Security Service Providers (ICoC) is a multi-stakeholder effort that aims to address some of the gaps in effective oversight and regulation of the private security sector.  After a successful launch of the ICoC on 9 November 2010 with 58 companies signing, a multi-stakeholder Steering Committee is now working to build an effective oversight and accountability institution for the ICoC. Participants will discuss the opportunities and challenges of the ICoC generally, and the oversight institution in particular, from the particular perspectives of industry, civil society and government.
