Hosted by the Center for Security Studies (CSS)

This panel will examine current international counter-terrorism efforts and debate the strategies and mechanisms needed for future success. In the last decade, as the nature of the terrorist threat has evolved, so too have the strategies employed to counter terrorist activity at the domestic, regional and international levels. Much emphasis as been placed on the importance of cooperation, coordination and intelligence-sharing between domestic agencies and, more broadly, states, but limits remain. Looking ahead, as terrorist groups continue to evolve, how should strategies adapt? What approaches are required? This panel will peer into the next decade, assess the changing terrain, and debate measures needed to mitigate the threat of future terrorist activity.
