Track |
- State Building / State Failure
Tuesday, 31 May 2011, 11:00 - 12:30
Hosted by the Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding (CCDP), Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies
This panel proposes to take a fresh look at three specific topics of peacemaking. The panel evaluates the challenges experienced by mediators when engaging armed groups to advance humanitarian objectives. It also presents the main findings of a recent study by Conciliation Resources on peacebuilding and cross-border armed conflicts, as well as an exploratory analysis of the challenges of conflict economies for peace mediation and the ethical and practical implications of deal-making for a forward-looking settlement.
